About This Book
Rabbi Nachman of Breslov was not only one of the greatest of the early Chassidic masters, he was also one of our people's most magnificent storytellers. To Reb Nachman, a story was a tool. It was wonderful to listen to and that is why it was so hard to forget. But then, his simple, enjoyable, memorable story would make people think. Because the story was more than story. It was a parable tht told us something about Hashem, the world, ourselves - and how all fit together. In this book, a fine storyteller and artist takes five of Reb Nachman's famous stories and retells them for children. The stories and full-color illustrations are beautiful and delightful. These tales are about a prince who thinks he's a turkey, a traveler who loses a diamond but finds a fortune, a dreamer who finds an unexpected treasure in the least obvious place, a murderous pasha who outsmarted himself, and a foolish beggar who ran away before the feast. Not many children's books are for all ages, but this is one of them.
