About This Book
Pinocchio is carved from a plain block of wood, yet he is so full of tricks and mischief that trouble seems to find him wherever he goes. Hidden under every prank is a wish that burns hotter than any splinter: he wants more than anything to become a real boy. Getting into trouble is his talent, but the only thing he truly wants is the one thing a puppet can never simply be handed, and that's only the beginning.
Quick Assessment
Pinocchio follows a wooden puppet with a talent for mischief and getting into trouble as he longs to become a real boy. Parents should know the story includes mild peril and consequences that flow from his misbehavior, presented in a classic fairy-tale style. Its themes of wishing, responsibility, and growing up make it a good starting point for conversations about choices.
